According to Diederik Van Wersch (Chainalysis), Web3 is transforming the centralized internet that we know into a decentralized network of services in which individuals own a portion of the network.
Toya Zhang (Bit.com) went on to say that in Web3, users are no longer only customers, but also owners of the internet.

Unstoppable Finance is building a crypto wallet to bring DeFi to retail investors.
The app is set to be rolled out in private beta in the coming days. More than 300k users are already pre-registered.
The Series A follows a €4.5M seed round in October 2021.

Injective raises $40M · Founded in 2018 · US
Injective is a decentralized smart contracts platform. dApps built on Injective have already generated over $7 Billion in cumulative volume.
Injective is focused on building infrastructure optimized for DeFi applications.
The startup will use the funding to boost utility for its native INJ Token as well as to support incoming developers.

Airswift raises $2M in Seed Round · Founded in 2022 · Canada
Airswift offers crypto payment solutions for businesses and consumers.
The company plans to provide a web3 native omnichannel payment gateway and crypto-funded prepaid cards.
Airswift will launch its initial product by September 2022.
Round led by CreditEase Fintech Investment Fund.
Pinata raises $18M in Series A · Founded in 2018 · US
Pinata is a media management company that provides media infrastructure and NFT platforms for creators and developers.
Pinata lets creators build across any blockchain with a suite of tools to manage and serve content with fast uploading, streaming and sharing.
The funds will be used to continue investing in their technology infrastructure, and to expand the team.
Round led by Pantera Capital & Greylock.
Fortress Blockchain Technologies raises $22.5M · Founded in 2021 · US
Fortress is a financial, regulatory and technology infrastructure for NFT and crypto innovators.
The funding will enable Fortress to continue to write software, begin to extend its regulatory services globally, and build a seasoned sales team.
Round led by Ayon Capital.

Taiyi Group acquires Huobi Global’s Communication platform, Huoxun
Terms were undisclosed
Taiyi is a domestic research enterprise for big data applications.
Huoxun is an integrated media service platform in the blockchain industry.
The acquisition of Huoxun is for Taiyi Group to enter the metaverse.
